We are a group of people live between Egypt and Europe and interested in the Arabic literature. We have among us both Arabic and western cultures.

Through this web site, we are looking forward to participating in publicizing the Arabic culture through enlarging the networks and communications among international publishers, Arabic literature translators and Arab authors and publishers.

Since Naguib Mahfouz was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1988, the Arabic literature attracted the international attention. Consequently, there was a need to publish and translate it. In the past few years, it was so clear that there is a need for the activation and contribution of the Arabic literature from both sides, Arabs and the west, as there is not enough attention to Arabic literature.

Despite the fact that there is an ongoing demand on the Arabic literature, the lack of the number of translators and clear channels would be a big obstacle that tackles the ability of having a clear image of the Arabic culture and literature and also, the inability of selecting good samples of such culture that suits the demands of publishers in another obstacle.

Therefore, Sphinx agency is working to mediate among authors, publishers and translators in both Arab world and the west.
